Bernedoodles
ABOUT BERNEDOODLES
Bernedoodles are a relatively new hybrid “designer” dog created by combining a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle.
Bernedoodles are a ton of fun. They are very intelligent and are often described as having a happy-go-lucky, goofy, and charming temperament. They are the happiest when spending time with their people and thrive in a family setting. Bernedoodles love human interaction, affection, and attention and enjoy playtime and cuddle time equally.
When it comes to training, a Bernedoodle puppy may show some stubbornness at the start, but don’t worry – they have a natural eagerness to please!
Their loving and gentle nature, when properly socialized, makes them one of the friendliest breeds. Bernedoodles do well as therapy dogs and get along well with other pets. They are true companion dogs.
BREED CHARACTERISTICS
Sizes – Typical adult weight can range between 20-110 pounds, being classified as miniature, medium, or standard. This is dependent on the size of the parent dog, typically the Poodle, which can range from a Toy, Miniature, Moyen, or Standard. Mini Bernedoodles are typically 20-40 pounds, Medium 40-60 pounds, and Standards can be from 60-110 pounds.
Activity Level – These dogs have a moderate activity level. They do well with plenty of exercise but are also very happy to chill on the couch with you.

Colors – Bernedoodles can be a variety of colors and patterns, dependent on the color traits of the Parents. Merle is a pattern rather than a color. Merle appears as patches of light and dark colors mixed. Bernadoodles can have a wider variety of colors, and can be apricot, black, or brown as a base color, with varieties of solid, tri-color, phantom, parti, and merle.
Grooming Requirements – Like all Doodles, Bernedoodles will require grooming every 2-3 months, depending on the curl of their coat. Curlier puppies will require grooming about every 2 months, while wavy puppies can usually go about 3 months between groomings.
